This Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST) is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on professional experience or Certificate in one identified skilled trades.
Federal Skilled Trade process
Government of Canada manages Federal Skilled Trade applications under these federal economic programs
ELLIGIBILITY TO APPLY
Candidates elligibility is based on following factors
- Language Skills ( English or French )
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in the skilled trade within the last 5 years before you apply
- Meet the job requirements for that skilled trade as set out in the National Occupational Classification
- Must have a Valid job offer of full time employement for a total period of at least 1 Year or certificate from Canadian provincial, territorial or federal authority
- Should show financial stability with enough funds for you and your family to settle in Canada
- Must be admisible in Canada
Points Grid
These factors are part of a 100-point grid used to assess eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program .Points are awarded for how well candicates fair each of the 6 factors.
To qualify for FSW program candidates must have minimum 67 points
Ranking System
Once Candidates profile has completed eligibility in Express Entry pool , profile ranking is completed through Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
The highest-ranking candidates from the pool are issues invitation to apply for permanent residence.
Invitation to Apply
Once invitation to apply (ITA) is received, Candidates have 60 days to show proof of the information submitted in Express Entry Profile.
Proof of information may include Work experience records , Education equivalency certificate , financial records and medical history .
